Kenya Targets Strong Youth Presence at Upcoming World Deaf U21 Futsal Championships

The Kenya Sports Federation of the Deaf (KSFD) has outlined a busy and ambitious international calendar as preparations begin for several major World Deaf Under-21 Championships scheduled for 2026, alongside a global tennis showcase later this year.

The competitions will offer Kenya’s emerging Deaf athletes a critical platform to gain international exposure, build competitive experience, and strengthen the country’s long-term performance pipeline in Deaf sports.

Key Upcoming International Events

Kenya is expected to participate in the following global championships: World Deaf U21 Futsal Championship

São Paulo, Brazil 11–20 June 2026 World Deaf U21 Football Championship

Zlatibor, Serbia 11–23 May 2026 World Deaf U21 Basketball Championship

Lublin, Poland 5–13 June 2026 World Deaf Tennis Championship

Grenoble, France 5–12 July 2026 Building the Next Generation of Deaf Champions

The upcoming championships form a critical part of KSFD’s broader strategy to invest in youth development, strengthen technical preparation, and ensure Kenyan Deaf athletes are competitive on the global stage. Participation in these events will also provide valuable international exposure for young athletes, coaches, and officials, while reinforcing Kenya’s growing presence in global Deaf sports. KSFD will, in due course, issue updates on selection trials, training camps, and preparation timelines as the federation works closely with its member associations to assemble strong national teams.
